Both, rising teen supermodels Jourdan Dunn and Chanel Iman are gracing the cover of Teen Vogue's newest november issue. Chanel Iman Robinson, named after designer Coco Chanel, was signed at only age twelve with Ford Model. The eighteen year-old African-Amercan and Korean mixed model graced her first Teen Vogue cover at age sixteen. But until a few years ago with the arrival of Jourdan Dunn, Chanel Iman was one of a few black supermodels on the scene.

Discovered in a chain store in London, nineteen year-old Jourdan Dunn, at five-foot-ten, quickly launched herself as a "force to be reckon with" in the model scene. Dunn made history by being the first black model to walk in a Prada show in over a decade. In the Teen Vogue november issue, "double whammy" piece written by Jane Keltner and photographed by Patrick Demarchelier-- both girls admits that it is hard being a black model. "It's competition" says Jourdan. While, Chanel says that "You're being told, 'So and so is only booking one black girl." Jourdan, who is expecting a boy in December also admits that her unplanned pregnancy "was really hard" and that Chanel was one of the first people she confided in.
